Android 11 found a completely new way to interact with a smartphone

There is no such thing on the iPhone.
Beta testers of the first tested version of Android 11 found an unusual feature in the firmware. The new operating system has the ability to execute various commands by double-tapping the back of the chassis.
The developers who discovered the innovation admitted that they did not know how the innovation was implemented. It is assumed that touching the back cover of the smartphone is determined by the joint operation of the gyroscope and accelerometer. Tests showed that the new gesture works even if the smartphone is in a case.
The new Android 11 feature is codenamed Columbus. There are no advanced option settings in the firmware settings, and therefore it is impossible to adjust the sensitivity of the gesture by double-clicking. Also, developers who tested the feature noted that it works even when the smartphone’s display is turned off.
