The new release date is unknown.
Google announced the postponement of the presentation of the Android 11 operating system, which was supposed to take place on June 3. This was reported by company representatives on Twitter, without specifying a new date for the presentation.
Google officials said that "now is not the time to celebrate." Thus, the company reacted to a wave of unrest in many US states caused by the murder of African American George Floyd by a police officer in Minneapolis. The policeman put a knee on the detainee's throat, as a result of which the man lost consciousness, and afterwards died in intensive care.
Google emphasized that the release of the first beta version of Android 11 will also be delayed. The terms for the announcement of Android 11 and the launch of the test assembly for users were not named.
Earlier, Sony announced the official date for the presentation of the new generation PlayStation 5 game console. The event is due to take place on June 4. It is not known whether the company plans to follow Google’s lead and reschedule the presentation.
