The App Store introduced a useful feature that eliminates the interruption of a paid subscription after an unsuccessful automatic renewal. Some users forget to update their payment data in a timely manner, or at the key moment the required amount is not in the account. Previously, this led to the immediate loss of premium application capabilities. Under the new rules, users are given a period for troubleshooting, during which the subscription continues.
The duration of the grace period depends on the renewal interval. 6 days for weekly subscriptions and 16 days for everyone else. At the same time, Apple emphasizes that the innovation will not reduce the income of developers. We also recall that the company recently introduced its own Apple Card credit card, which has already managed to find a very unusual application in the household.
