Apple has finally begun to make devices thicker (and better). Are you satisfied?

Perhaps due to the departure of Joni Ive.
Apple has stopped overly caring about the thickness of its devices at the expense of functionality. This is directly indicated by the main innovations of the company in 2019: the iPhone 11 Pro and the new 16-inch MacBook Pro, which have become thicker, but thanks to this, better. Apple fans have long asked the company to stop worrying so much about the thickness of the gadgets. And, it seems, Apple executives have heeded. It is possible that this is due to the departure of the legendary designer Joni Ive from the company.
Key Apple devices really get thicker every year. The thickness of the iPhone 11 Pro is 8.3 mm, which is already a millimeter thicker than the iPhone 8 – the smartphone that released the “obsessed” thin Apple devices.
The increase in thickness made a really big difference. The battery life of the iPhone 11 Pro compared to the iPhone 8 has increased significantly. Moreover, the iPhone 11 Pro is recognized as one of the longest running smartphones in the world. iPhone 8 could not boast of anything like that even after its release.
Released yesterday, November 13, the 16-inch MacBook Pro has also become thicker, and in addition, heavier than the previous 15-inch model. Of course, the laptop remained thin and light compared to most others, but the trend is visible. Apple has ceased to chase the record low thickness of its devices. Instead, the company equips them with larger batteries, additional sensors, or, as is the case with the new MacBook Pro, a keyboard with an updated mechanism that is not expected to break.
CNBC publication experts suggested that such changes may be related to the departure of Apple chief designer Joni Quince from the company. He is known as an ardent admirer of minimalism and, probably, insisted on the release of the thinnest devices, including to the detriment of functionality. Quince's love of minimalist design at CNBC cited the acclaimed situation with Apple's new office on the Apple Park campus as an example. It was reported that the Quince-designed office had so many clear glasses that employees stumbled across them all the time.
