Apple will replace cracked screens for Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3 for free

Apple has launched a free screen replacement program for the Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3, released between September 2016 and September 2019. Thus, the company recognized that cracks may appear at the edges of the watch “in rare circumstances”, which eventually cover the entire matrix.
The owners of Apple Watch claim that the cracks on the rounded part of the protective glass appear on their own, there is no reason for this. Often cracks form in the corner and propagate around the perimeter of the watch, as shown in the figure. It is such specific damage that will be considered a warranty case. Otherwise, a free replacement will be refused.
Previously, some users of all Apple Watch models, including Series 4, faced a similar problem, but then the cause of the cracked screen was a swollen battery. What could cause cracks this time, remains a mystery.
The free screen replacement program applies only to aluminum models of the Apple Watch of the second and third generations, including versions of Nike +. It will be valid 3 years from the date of the official start of sales of the device. For more information, users can contact Apple Support, an authorized service center, or a retail store.
