The new version of the "smart" assistant Google Assistant 2.0 faster and more accurately execute commands compared to Siri. A comparison of voice assistants showed that Google was able to significantly improve the “smart” assistant and make it much more convenient in everyday use.
Siri vs. Google Assistant 2.0: who is smarter
Voice assistants were compared by In Depth Tech Reviews, the YouTube channel. He took turns asking Siri and Google Assistant 2.0 to execute the same set of commands from among the most popular. Voice assistants searched for photos on a smartphone, compiled shopping lists, created reminders of the need to call back and performed other similar tasks.
The improved version of Google Assistant coped with all the teams in 2 minutes 35 seconds. Siri took almost a minute longer to complete them – 3 minutes 26 seconds.
The difference in the speed of voice assistants is due to the fact that Google Assistant 2.0 does not require activation after each request. The assistant continues to listen to the user after the first command, thereby allowing him to make quick requests in context. Siri must be activated after almost every command executed.
Also, a comparison showed that Siri can not perform some tasks that are under the power of Google Assistant. Both voice assistants were able to find photos from London in the smartphone’s library, but only Google Assistant managed to select images with buses from the proposed selection. In addition, the Google Assistant was then able to send the selected photo on its own. Siri needed the help of the user.
Currently, Google Assistant 2.0 is only available on the latest Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones. Google plans to launch an updated assistant on more Android smartphones.
