Today, November 1, Apple launched its own streaming service, Apple TV +, with exclusive series and documentaries. You can watch content from Apple TV + not only from the company's devices, but also directly from the browser on any computer. However, this requires a credit card.
Apple TV + in the browser
Apple allows viewing Apple TV + in a browser on a special page of the service. It presents all available and upcoming series and documentaries. To start watching, you need to log in through your Apple ID account on which the Apple TV + subscription is activated and, suddenly, enter your credit card information.
Apple asks for a credit card in the window that appears when you click on play any series. If you specify a debit card, a message appears stating that such cards are not suitable for verification. Even if the debit card is tied to an Apple ID and has previously been used to subscribe to Apple TV +.
The reason for this strange restriction is unknown. But because of it, holders of only debit cards will not be able to watch TV shows from Apple TV + in a browser.
