An investigation will be conducted following a complaint from Kaspersky Lab.
Antitrust proceedings have been filed against the American company Apple. FAS Russia will conduct an investigation in connection with a statement from Kaspersky Lab, one of the main Russian developers of anti-virus applications. Apple is suspected of unfair competition.
Kaspersky Lab lawyers are confident that the Cupertinos have limited the functions of their updated program Kaspersky Safe Kids, which allows you to control children's access to smartphones. The FAS claims that Apple has its own similar solution called “Screen Time” (Screen Time), which appeared last summer. Prosecutors are confident that they have violated antitrust laws to promote this program at Apple.
The case on suspicion will be considered on September 13.
Earlier, the New York Times wrote about removing the top parental control services from the App Store or limiting their capabilities after the launch of Screen Time. Authors of similar applications have already filed a complaint with the European Commission.
Apple does not admit their guilt, saying that the removal or limitation of application functionality is solely due to the concern for protecting users' personal data – according to company representatives, these programs could collect information about users without their knowledge.
