It is expected that on March 25 at a special event, Apple will finally present a long-awaited streaming video service with a subscription, which will include unique content (programs, TV shows, movies), filmed by the Cupertine giant. And now an authoritative publication on the film industry Variety reported that the notorious actress Bree Larsson is the leading actress in the Captain Marvel blockbuster / “Captain Marvel”, which is now available in Ukrainian distribution (the first reviews point to the powerful feminist message, which Marvel painting overshadows even “ Wonder Woman "DC) – will play the main role of a CIA agent in the so far unnamed mini-series for the upcoming Apple video service. The show will be based on the as yet unpublished memoirs of a former CIA officer Amaryllis Fox.
So far, details about him, alas, a little. But Deadline writes that Apple almost signed (negotiations in the final stage) to the position of screenwriter Megan Martin, known for the projects The Following and Animal Kingdom. The Undercover: Coming of Age, which will be released only on October 15, will be the literary source for the plot of the future drama for Apple video service. As reported above, this is a memoir of a former CIA officer Amaryllis Fox, telling of undercover work in a secret organization. Fox, who is now an activist in the fight for peace, has worked in the CIA as an undercover agent for nearly a decade as part of the organization’s efforts to fight terrorism.
Brie Larson is just one of the big names in the rapidly growing list of talents that Apple has recently signed up for its TV shows. Earlier, Apple announced an agreement with another Marvel star, actor Chris Evans (Captain America). The latter will play a major role in the Jacob's Protection series, based on the novel by William Landow. Apple also signed a multi-year contract with the most famous American TV host, Oprah Winfrey.
Earlier edition of WSJ wrote about Apple’s plans to spend about $ 1 billion on the purchase and production of shows and TV series for its video service.
