Last week, Apple released iOS 13.2.2, another technical update for iOS 13. In the new firmware, Apple developers fixed important shortcomings in previous versions of iOS 13, including problems that could cause the iPhone to suddenly lose contact. But is everything normal in iOS 13.2.2 with performance and battery life? A detailed comparison of the firmware with iOS 13.2 gave the answer to this question.
iOS 13.2.2 is no worse
Comparison of iOS 13.2.2 and iOS 13.2 firmware was carried out by YouTube-blogger iAppleBytes. He tested the performance and battery life of the iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, iPhone 8 and iPhone XR running both firmware in the Geekbench 4 benchmark.
Let's start with the most interesting. Firmware performance tests in Geekbench 4 showed that iOS 13.2 has the best performance in multi-core mode on all iPhone models. Moreover, in some cases, the difference is quite significant.
iPhone 6s running iOS 13.2.2 scored 1047 points in multi-core mode, while on iOS 13.2 – 1130 points. The iPhone 7 on iOS 13.2 – 1403 points, on iOS 13.2.2 – 1373 points. An even more impressive difference is on the iPhone 8, which scored 2455 points on iOS 13.2 and only 2353 points on iOS 13.2.2.
The reason for this unexpected change in performance is unknown. However, at maximum load, the speed of the iPhone running iOS 13.2.3 may be slightly, but lower than on iOS 13.2.
As for battery life, it is identical on both firmwares. The battery life of iOS 13.2 and iOS 13.2.2 as a result of testing differed by 1-2 minutes, which is an error.
Earlier, iOS 13.2.2 had already been blamed for the fast discharge of the iPhone. We explained why this is not so.
