Apple has released updates for many of its operating systems: iOS 13.2, iPadOS 13.2, and tvOS 13.2. Most of all new functions and features appeared in iOS 13.2, on which we will focus our attention.
This version of the mobile operating system has received support for the new AirPods Pro wireless headphone model with active noise canceling. The update also improved the camera performance of the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro smartphones. In particular, support for Deep Fusion technology was added to enhance the quality of photos. It works in the background and is activated automatically depending on the lighting conditions. The work of the technology is that the camera takes several pictures of one scene: 4 photos before actually pressing the corresponding shooting button, 4 photos after pressing the button, another photo with a slow shutter speed. Then the 8-core Neural engine analyzes all the images, selects the best ones and creates a high-quality final image with HDR, good detail and sharpness.
Another improvement in the operation of the camera application was the ability to manually change the resolution and frame rate when recording video. Previously, to change the video recording settings, it was necessary to minimize the camera application and go to “Settings” and make a few more transitions on the menu itself. Now you can make all the necessary changes in the upper right corner of the camera application. Clicking the icon on the left side switches between 4K and HD (1080p) recording modes, and the icon on the right side allows you to change the frame rate (30 or 60 frames per second for Full HD video and 24, 30 or 60 frames per second for 4K). But only owners of the latest smartphone models iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max can take advantage of this opportunity. For owners of models of previous generations, this amazing improvement is still not available.
Also in iOS 13.2 there was a choice, thanks to which users can decide whether they want to share the audio recordings of their requests to Siri with Apple developers so that they can improve the product. By the way, this feature is the only innovation in tvOS 13.2.
At the same time, users have access to emoji icons, including food, animals and people with disabilities. HomePod multi-user voice support has also appeared, allowing the smart speaker to recognize up to six different voices.
