The situation is depressing.
Apple developers were not able to optimize the battery life of the iPhone in iOS 13.3 so that it became higher than in iOS 12.4.1. A fresh comparison of the firmware showed that iOS 12.4.1 is superior to the new iOS 13.3 in autonomy.
Comparison of the battery life of the iPhone 7 Plus on iOS 13.3 and iOS 12.4.1 was carried out in mixed mode. On two smartphones running different firmware, identical tasks were launched, including tests in benchmarks, popular standard and third-party applications, regular iOS functions, etc. Both smartphones were completely discharged using the Geekbench 5 benchmark battery test.
Testing has shown that iOS 12.4.1 is better optimized for the long-term operation of the iPhone without recharging. iPhone 7 Plus on the old firmware lasted 15 minutes longer than iOS 13.3. Note that both smartphones were discharged in an accelerated manner using a benchmark. This means that the real difference in battery life between firmwares is even greater.
Also during the comparison, YouTube tested the performance of two firmware. iOS 13.3 was significantly faster than iOS 12.4.1 both when comparing the "live" speed of work, as well as in synthetic tests. In multithreaded mode, the Geekbench 5 benchmark smartphone running iOS 13.3 ahead of the model on iOS 12.4.1 and a half times.
Earlier it became known that iOS 13.3 fixed a dangerous bug on the iPhone.
