Media: Apple will release an iPad keyboard with integrated trackpad this year

According to The Information resource, referring to its own sources, this year Apple intends to release a new keyboard for the iPad, which will receive an integrated trackpad. The new accessory is likely to be released with the next version of the iPad Pro.
Adding a trackpad to the iPad keyboard would be another step Apple has taken to transfer laptop functionality to tablets. iPadOS already has mouse support, but it is an extension of iPad AssistiveTouch technology, and users need to go to the accessibility menu to enable it. And the mouse cursor on the screen is not an ordinary small black arrow, which everyone is used to working on a computer with, it’s a large translucent circle with a dot in the middle.
Thus, if the company really releases an iPad keyboard with a trackpad, perhaps mouse support may become a more prominent feature on the iPadOS in the upcoming software update. Just the other day at the company's annual meeting of shareholders, Apple Software Director Craig Federigi said:
"If you like what we do with the iPadOS, stay tuned, we will continue to work on it."
