The omniscient Asian analyst Min-Chi Kuo told the first details about the next generation of smart watches Apple Watch 6, and the company's patent showed that one of the future models can get a Touch ID sensor in the screen and an antenna in the strap.
So, according to Apple analysts, Apple Watch Series 6 will be based on the new S6 platform, which will show a “jump-like” performance increase compared to the current S5 chip used in the Apple Watch Series 5. Kuo also assures that the new product will receive the main board made of liquid crystal polymer (LCP, liquid crystal polymer) and improved protection against moisture, which will allow users to dive watches to a greater depth.
Recall that the current version of the Apple Watch Series 5 is waterproof at a depth of 50 meters according to ISO 22810: 2010, while the manufacturer indicates that they can be used for shallow dives (swimming in the pool or sea), but should not be used for diving, activities water skiing and other sports involving diving to great depths or contact with water at high speed.
According to other sources, the Apple Watch Series 6 will also receive a new, always-on (Always On) screen based on MicroLED and full sleep tracking.
The network also appeared data on a new Apple patent, in which developers offer to transfer wireless modules (4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) to the strap of the antenna and integrate a Touch ID fingerprint scanner under the screen. If the second solution is really able to improve confidentiality (at the moment, the watch is protected only by a code), then the first solution will lead to a significant rise in price of interchangeable straps and, most likely, to the inability to use accessories from third-party manufacturers.
By the way, earlier there were rumors that Apple wants to integrate a camera into the Apple Watch smartwatch strap.
