And again, the Koreans are the first.
Samsung has again become the leader in smartphone sales in Russia, regaining its lost leadership. Samsung managed to outstrip Huawei's Honor brand, which became the leader in the Russian smartphone market in May.
According to retailers, Samsung's share of the Russian smartphone market exceeded 30% in July, and the company made a big leap compared to May, when its share was 21.1%.
Honor's share of the Russian smartphone market in July was just over 20%. The brand recorded a decline in sales, which led to a decrease in share from 23% in May 2020.
According to Russian experts, the leadership of Samsung is explained by the great popularity of inexpensive smartphones from the Galaxy A line. The best-selling smartphone in June was the Samsung Galaxy A51. The second line behind another Samsung smartphone – Galaxy A10.
In addition, Samsung's sales were positively impacted by trade-in programs launched by the company in cooperation with leading Russian retailers. As analyst Eldar Murtazin noted, the shares spurred sales of Samsung smartphones in all price categories.
