At the beginning of the year, Apple boasted that app developers who featured in the App Store had already earned more than $ 155 billion. In comparison, developers offering their apps in the Play Store have generated a total of $ 80 billion since its launch in 2008. This week, Apple announced large-scale plans to expand the geography of the App Store.
At the moment, the store is officially launched in 155 countries of the world, but already this year the corresponding list of countries will be replenished by 20 positions. In particular, it is soon planned to launch a store in the following countries:
Afghanistan Gabon Cote d’Ivoire Georgia Maldives Serbia Bosnia and Herzegovina Cameroon Iraq Kosovo Libya Montenegro Morocco Mozambique Myanmar Nauru Rwanda Tonga Zambia Vanuatu
There is no word yet about when the App Store will launch in these 20 new countries. But the company asked the developers to log in to their accounts and accept the updated license agreement until April 10. Probably, just then the expansion will begin.
Recall that in Ukraine the App Store launched back in 2012, and in 2018 Apple expanded the localization of the Ukrainian version of the store.
